When I was in high school we always went over safety at the beginning of the year, but it was barely addressed the rest of the time. Teachers always reminded us about safety goggles and close toed shoes, but that is about it. I think a great way to encourage female students to find their passion for science would be to expose them to other great women in science. Since many history and science textbooks do not show many contributions made by women we need to find them. Great Tool to Help Meet Science Standards
I really liked this excerpt and the information it offered. I am an aspiring teacher and have feared teaching elementary school students science because I have so few memories of learning science in early grade school. I think that this would be a great book to have to help teachers face the science standards head on.

Students and Scale
I think that scale is a difficult concept for young students to grasp. I thought that this journal offered some good ways to explain scale to a class. I think that this is a good resource for educators and also my help students if they were inclined to read it.
