Daily exit tickets are not bad. I think that they are very helpful, but I would suggest using it as a participation grade or as an informal assessment. I think a KWL chart can also be something to see what they have learned and what they already know about that particular topic.

I have found that students love hands-on activities because they can physically touch and see what they are learning about! Also, virtual games and science field trips are also fun to use to teach a lesson as well as a fun video to watch or book to read!

I think that students get more engaged with hands-on activities or even games. They have virtual lessons that take you on a virtual field trip. Also, there are a lot of science games out there that teach students about science in a fun and interactive way!
