I believe science is a very hands on subject and the more you incorporate this in the classroom, I feel like the more the students can take back from it. I really love the informal teaching because it finds ways to teach in a more active and fun approach. I am also researching in ways to incorporate informal learning in classrooms. I gained a lot of insight when I volunteered at the Maryland Science Center and they had a lot of cool ideas. I think the main thing is how to involve the students in a way that they will really remember and have fun at the same time.

I think it will be helpful to build a garden for a specific purpose. For an example, the rain garden absorbs urban rain water runoff. Depending on the kind of environment your school is surrounded in, you can build a garden that supports it.
