Inquiry Review

I really enjoyed this collection! The two journal articles discussed and explained lessons and methods and connected them to real life and real classroom situations. I really enjoyed ready about the 5 levels of inquiry in the "Inquiry and the Learning Cycle" and about the experiment levels in the Many Levels of Inquiry. By reading about the levels of inquiry multiple times from multiple sources, I was able to understand different ways to include inquiry. Reading the multiple articles on how to include inquiry into my classrooms and how to scaffold the different types of inquiry really provided me with great ideas for my future class.

Safety in a classroom

I really enjoyed reading this article! I like how the teacher reflected and used an unseen situation to her advantage. I believe teaching always involves ongoing knowledge and the teacher in this article learned and kept moving forward, careful to avoid safety mistakes in the classroom.

Strategies for ELL Success

Reaching all students

I really enjoyed this article! I often think about teaching to students in the ELL program especially living in Miami, FL. I agree with including inquiry based lessons in classrooms to involve all students; keeping all students engaged and allowing them to explore independently. I've seen a lot of the strategies mentioned in the article in field classrooms I have observed such as language buddies and pre-assessments. But, I resonated with two points in the article. I do believe keeping the students encouraged and providing all students with different types of assessment (formally and informally) can benefit all students, not solely students in the ELL program.
