Hi Heather! One of the biggest differences I have found between the HS/MS level and elementary level is that the little ones crave affirmation/attention for even the smallest of tasks! That doesn't necessarily have to be affection... if you are good at writing maybe try writing your praise to the students?? A simple "great job", "I can tell you are working so hard," or "I'm so proud of you" really...
