SMART boards are an awesome tool to use in our classrooms! Smart board has softwares and programs for teachers that allow our students to have access to lessons from their own devices. Inquiry-based learning is very beneficial for younger elementary students! Having the students engage in activities that they can relate to helps them understand the science context behind it better, instead of just giving them some definitions and concepts. This allows them to actually learn as they are doing.

Hey Melanie! I think your collection is great! You found so many great resources for your lesson. I actually did this lesson last semester and you found some great resources I didn't find that I think will be super helpful. I specifically love the Illuminating Food Webs! I think your students are going to find that activity super exciting and interesting and it's like teaching 2 science lessons in 1!

I really liked this article. It was very helpful to understand that it is just as important to teach students how to retain information by using strategies that they can use in all subjects as teaching them the actual concepts. Teaching students how to retain information better can help them in their future.
