I thought this article was a great resource to use for research on how to teach the five senses. It really focused in on effective ways to get students involved, gave examples of how to teach each individual sense through modeling and experimenting, and provided structure and ideas for reflective practices such as group discussion and journal entries. The article, and the project done within the article, demonstrated how a seemingly ordinary and easy topic, such as the five senses, can become a dynamic and meaningful inquiry when a teacher takes steps to extend learning beyond the classroom.
