Maybe you should break the lesson into two days.The first day can be used to shortly engage the students. This should not be more than a couple of minutes. Sometimes it can be hard to explain information to students. The best thing to do is to cater to a variety of learning types. Instead of you explaining everything maybe you should try to use videos. CRISTINA BONILLA, this is a great collection! You have a variety of items added to your collection that caters to all learners and improves teachers’ understanding of interdependence. Close Encounters of the Symbiotic Kind, allows a hands-on approach for students by collecting mystery objects. Through the use of this book chapter students are able to discover how different organisms interact with one another by their symbiotic relationships. The science object Coral Reef Ecosystems: Interdependence was a good option to add for teachers who are not that confident about the topic and need to learn more. With the book chapter No More Plants teachers can learn how to get the ideas of their students about interdependence, plants in particular. The journal article Science 101: Do plants communicate also discusses these interactions and clears up any misconceptions that teachers may hold about the communication of plants. The sciguide Organisms provides lesson plans and video clips for community, ecosystems, and environments. These video clips can be good for more visual learners to learn about organisms in their environments. Lastly, the podcast is a good visual about interactions, such as, pollination. All in all, this is a useful collection for both teachers and students.
