Kathy has 19 years of teaching and another dozen years in curriculum design. She is the owner of Zanilu Educational Services through which she writes curriculum for several companies and provides instructional coaching. She serves on several boards, including the National Middle Level Science Teacher Association and the Wisconsin Society of Science Teachers and is a frequent presenter at NSTA conferences. Kathy is a model rocket enthusiast and workes as a content specialist for Estes Rockets. She currently writes curriculum for Pets in the Classroom, MN Sea Grant and WI Ag in the Classroom. When not teaching, writing grants for classroom equipment, or looking up at the night sky, Kathy and her family can be found on a boat—somewhere! They have sailed the Florida Keys, the Great Lakes, and the British Virgin Islands…but most of the summer is spent in beautiful northern Wisconsin catching rays and catching fish!
