Ecosystems
The theme for my resource collection is ecosystems. All of my items helped me to plan for my CAT, which was centered on how matter is transferred from living to nonliving things. Each item helped me in one way or another in developing lessons for my CAT.
Seminar - This seminar discussed how to apply NGSS core ideas to teaching, specifically about food webs, which was my last lesson in my unit for the CAT.
Flow of Matter and Energy in Ecosystems- This science pack helped to explain how matter and energy flow in an ecosystem. My CAT was based on how matter is transferred in an ecosystem, and this helped explained the transfer of matter in depth. Food chains and food webs were emphasized in this scipack.
Food Web and Energy Flow-This book has great ideas for activities to implement in the class that allows students to understand the food web and how energy moves in ecosystems.
Living or Non-living- This article has great lessons on living and non-living things in an ecosystem. It als

Does anyone have any ideas for lessons/activities to teach this disciplinary core idea to 4th graders: Plants and animals have both internal and external structures that serve various functions in growth, survival, behavior, and reproduction.
