I think letting them know right off the bat that they are in a safe space when they are with you is extremely important, but it's also important to match your words with actions. Hi Olivia! Something that I have noticed while out in the classrooms has been to state your classroom expectations/rules right away. This way you are starting off the class with letting your students know what you are expecting from them and also what they can expect from you!
