Hi Julissa! I personally love the 5E lesson plan format. It is very inquiry based and I like how my lessons flow when I use it. A 5E is perfect for science because science is a subject that naturally is very inquiry based, therefore it works out perfectly.

From what I am aware about STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), it can be implemented by making small, yet thoughtful, adjustments to a lesson. One of the main things I have found is making sure the students know the expectations before starting the experiment! Setting expectations and making the students are aware of possible consequences beforehand is very helpful in keeping them on task during the experiments.
