Perspectives: Resource Review

I loved this article because I love asking questions! I am a firm believer of purposeful questions in the classroom. Like this article states, open ended questions help students to facilitate with discussions during science talks and provide all students with participation in inquiry. As the teacher, the answers to these questions serve as wonderful formative assessments. When asking questions, think about the content through the student's perspective and be creative!

A Walk in the Woods Resource Review

This article provides great ideas to use with students and relevant content that can be taught while in nature! My favorite teaching strategy utilized in this article was the connection the educator made towards the "Big Ideas" found in nature. These allow the students to make focused predictions and enjoy the freedom in learning about nature. Also, this field trip required authentic inquiry. While exploring, the students also represented and engaged science talks about nature and the observations they made about the natural world!
