Any science class in high school will have lessons where a lab is needed to drive home the point. There are some great videos out there that provide excellent overviews of topics. Khan Academy and Bozeman Science are a couple that come to mind. Photosynthesis for the Win

This science object is fantastic. it is a complete overview of photosynthesis and all of the possible working parts that encompass it. I love that it is thorough and also the clarity and simplicity of the information. It is great review and even has a quiz that ensures that I have retained the information that is essential. Electric and Magnetic Forces

Fantastic

This SciPack for electric and magnetic forces is a fantastic tool to have. If there was ever a time that I found myself asking a question about electric or magnetic forces during my teaching career, this SciPack would have the answer. There are also some pretty cool simulations that help drive home the point even further. It is a little lengthy and time consuming to get through, but overall this is a resource that I will be sure to use in the future.

Infographics for the Future

After reading this journal article, I have officially found a new teaching strategy that I will implement in my classroom. Infographics is an amazing way for teachers and students to display and learn about data in the classroom. I thought that giving the students freedom to choose what they wanted to research data on was a fantastic idea. It keeps the students involved and they can learn about a topic that interests them. Then, on top of that, infographics makes it that much more fun for students to present their data. Students are now introduced to presentations other than just a PowerPoint that make it easier for not only the presenter, but the viewer to understand and take away from. The rubric and assessment for the students is also clear and allows them to use their imagination to display specific data as long as it is displayed. I agree 100% that representational thinking is important for students to learn and master, and I am glad that I found this article to help with that!
