Matter

I personally enjoyed this collection. I like that this collection included activities that the students could complete, so that they can understand the concept of matter a little more. I also liked that this collection included a collection that explains matter in terms of atoms and molecules. Lastly, I liked that this collection included a journal that provides the teacher with additional information of the concept.

The Green Room: School Gardens

School Garden

I enjoyed this article because it discussed the benefits of having a school garden such as giving students hands on experience with nature, and making it easier to incorporate food science in the curriculum, and its a great way to include family and faculty and raise money. I remember when I was in high school, I had a class called "Horticulture" and in the class we took care of plants and animals. This class provided us with the hands on experience I think students of all ages would benefit from. And I remember every month we would raise money by selling the plants to people, and faculty members and family members would come and support our school.

Collection Review

I personally enjoyed this collection, they included several resources that would be beneficial for the student and the teacher. I really enjoyed the coral reef resource, because it was fun and interactive, and it helps teachers to understand the content that they are teaching. I enjoyed the resource that discussed the structure of living things, because it uses a frog pond in the example, and that is something that is something that most children will be able to relate too. This collection teaches teachers the importance about teaching science through trade books and teaching students about the basic need of living things.
