Thank you so much for sharing this information. In my classroom I used Kagan strategy to engage my students. I used group of 4 students preferably 2 boys and 2 girls in an alternate arrangement. I think you are doing good. Just balance the activity with other strategies like discussions and lectures. Homework can also help them learn in advance especially reading. Just be consistent.
