I'm a high school science teacher, working for 12 years at Jordan HS, Long Beach, CA after 8 years of work with informal education at 2 local aquariums. I'm currently National Board certified and have recently complete my masters degree in science education. My focus in teaching is to transition more of my laboratories and lessons to inquiry based learning.

I love that you took a comment that the students made and turned it into an educational and fun laboratory. Our fall semester usually begins with very hot weather and I am going to try solar ovens as one of my beginning activities for my astronomy unit. Having the students create their own laboratory questions for this activity is a key part of my lesson.
