Population and the Many Contributing Factors
This collection contains various resources that are tied to the concept of population and the factors that affect a population. Targeting Elementary, there are resources that initiate the topic of population by placing a foundation on organisms and their environment. Moving toward building the concept of population, resources on species relationships, changes in ecosystems, and population balances are available. For higher levels, there are resources on population growth and how it is linked to technology, as well as on population curves. A final resource on our growing planet is included to link how population is connected to our growth as a planet. The purpose of these resources are to refresh, expand, and stimulate our minds on the topic of population to be able to teach it to students the best way we can. Hope this collection is useful to many!

Promoting and ensuring safety is essential when conducting and managing a hands-on activity. Definitely using visuals such as posters around the classroom is important. K-2: Organisms and their Needs Collection
Mon, Apr 18, 2016 10:50 PM
I really enjoyed this collection. The articles all linked to the bigger picture and are great resources to reference in the near future. I was especially appealed to two articles and added them to my library. The first article being “Science 101: Do Plants communicate?” and the second being “Living or Non-living?” I was captivated by the title of the first article I added and was excited to read it. I believe students will love the topic and will enjoy a lesson on it. I also added “Living or Non-living?” because it would help the students in the Field Placement school that I am currently in. A few of them were struggling to distinguish between living and non-living things and this article will definitely be useful. It also ties with my FA assignments, so thank you for the great resources.
