Growing up, I remember not enjoying science classes. The majority of the time all we did was work out of textbooks and memorize facts... there was not a lot of room for engaged discussion. So, now that I am a student teacher, my goal is to create environments for students where they feel engaged and interested. How as teacher do I create that environment for my students?

Finding experiments that catch students' attention truly makes a difference. Also, finding experiments that students are passionate about is beneficial as well. It can go a long way when trying to engage students in your class

It is important to set expectations for your students at the very beginning of the lesson. What also helps is to develop a routine for students to follow.
