Simple Machines in the Community

Simple Machines
I found this article to be very informational when researching a simple machines lesson for my third grade students. Even though this article focuses on students in the Philippines and not in the United States, it is still relevant and relatable. It was very interesting to see how even though the culture is very different in the Philippines, they still use the same types of simple machines for the same purposes as we do. I used many of the six simple machine definitions with my class and they ended up brainstorming the same examples that the article had. This article was very interesting and very useful in my planning and preparation for my simple machines lesson.
