Weather Patterns
This article does great in explaining how to view weather through various content areas. It offers 2 easy to follow lesson plans, one for K-2 and a second for 3-5. In reading this article, I found the book choices helpful to give students a different perspective on how patterns are observable in the real world and predictable through the use of a fictional story. The standard break down at the end of the article also makes it easy to identify the skills that can and are being addressed when students are able to observe and talk about the weather. The article could go further into observing these patterns through mathematics. It is mentioned as a standard at the end. While it is just listed at a Kindergarten standard, it would be beneficial to make those connections as students build their understanding of weather.
