Review for Maria Vargas - Parts of a Plant

One thing I liked about this collection is that it included a article on scientific vocabulary. This is something that is we have talked about in class. Another thing that I liked is that Maria had an article that has an activity dealing with this topic, this will help when teaching the subject to her students. To me the best part is that she has that discusses students ideas when it comes to this subject as well as another article that explains how to assess those ideas. Overall, I believe this is a great collection!

Article Review (extra credit)

I truly feel inspired after reading this article. Being an artisitic individual I feel passionately about integrating art into different subject areas. I love how the article pointed out that using art as an assessment will be helpful to students who have problems communicating, and it will also be helpful for ELL students as well. I feel that the whole class discussion the teacher had prior to reading the text about biomes was helpful because it will assist in the retention of information by the student. Once all students had completed their paper biomes the teacher had them show it to the class and invited other students to name what they saw in the picture. This is a great because it serves as an informal assessment to ensure the students understanding of the topic. This was overall a great article.

Review for Carili Rubin - BIOMES COLLECTION

The collection I chose to review is Biomes Collection b Carili Rubin, I really enjoyed two particular artifacts in this collection. Biome is Where the Art is because I feel too often we forget to let students express what they have learned in an artisitic manner. I like that this also went into detail with different topics such as "Deeper into the Biodome" and "Climate Change". I also liked the article What Happens When the Climate Changes, because it gave a clear example of the 5E's that we have learned about in class so much. This collection also had information that can be linked to teaching students about the food chain as well. Great job Carili!
