This activity is great and also very engaging for the students. Rather than have the students reading from a book about living and non living you have them going up to the board and giving evidence that supports their claim of living and non living. I think incorporating holidays to a science lesson is a great idea. Students seem to only understand that a holiday is coming and just focus on that. But as a future educator this is opportunity to incorporate science for a holiday that students are already excited for. Food chain/food web Collection

Awesome Collection

Hello Isis, I personally decided to take a look at your resources because I also did my collection on the Food web and the Food Chain. I see we have two things in our collection in common. (The scipack that we did for Dr. Sparrow and teaching through tradebooks) This made me feel confident about my collection because we are on the same track with the material that we both chose. I also noticed that you added more scipacks in to your collection. This is a GREAT idea because it allows you, the teacher, more background knowledge for when you are teaching the material to the students. This is personally not something I did in my collection and wish I would have done. Adding scipacks also allows the teacher to have a way of assessing the students knowledge because the students can also complete the scipack. This is a way to enhance the student knowledge. One thing I did notice is that you have an e-book in your collection that is $7.77 this is something I would try and avoid if possible. If every lesson you teach you are going to have to end up spending more from your pocket then you will end up broke by the end of the year. But your students will definetly end up being more knowledgeable. I honestly enjoyed looking through your collection and gaining knowledge on the food web. This gave me insight on what else I can do as a future educator to make sure I am best prepared to teach the content to my students! LOVED your collection. Keep up the great work. -Karina Hernandez
