Living/Nonliving Things
This collection can be useful and recommended to teachers who are teaching living and non living things. It contains different sources, such as, book chapters, science object, and journal articles. The science object contains information about cell structure and function. This may be important for teachers and students to know relating to living things because cells are made up of components that help living things eat and respire. Cells are also the basic building block of living things. The science object is a great resource that will guide and help teachers understand the content they teach. The book chapters contain assessment probes and lessons on living and non-living things. The assessment probe included in the book chapters helps children produce ideas about the needs of living things and is designed to find out if students recognize that all animals need air to live, especially those animals under water. You’ll find different lessons in this collection, such as, having students create a list of living and non-living things found within a frog pond habitat. This a fun lesson for students because they have an opportunity to explore outdoors and recognize and describe living and non-living things, while also learning the relationships between them. The journal articles of this collection contain a significant amount of information on inquiry on plant growth and how living things responding to their environment.
