Yes, I completely agree with you. I think in order for the teacher to teach the subject, the teacher must first know the subject/topic very well because I have gone through a lesson in which I should have known more about and the students asked great questions that I did not know the answer to. So knowing the content will most definitely be key to a successful lesson.

I posted a response to someone with a similar situation. I suggested having roles for the students in the group so that each student is responsible for a certain task. I would go around each group and ask questions and see what they are doing. I would also tell the students that you are going to have them explain their experiment in front of the whole class so that the students are able to know ...
