I was a high school science teacher in the United States for 23 years, Since 2007 I have been teaching science methods classes at the University of Regina. My first methods class was for pre-interns preparing to teach Kindergarten through grade 5. I really became interested in elementary science education because of the variety of science that can be taught at that level.

You may want to assess the process they use. For example, if a group wants their play dough to be more pliant what variable do they want to adjust.
