When working with kindergartners one semester at an all girls school we did an experiment to talk about why it rains. It was done on a very basic level but the girls loved it! We read a few books about rain and precipitation. The main idea was that the clouds were made up of tiny drops of water and when they became too heavy or too full, the tiny drops formed together and fell as rain to the Earth...
