I would highly recommend finding activites that are hand-on and physically engaging, like the dances. For more of a tranditional lesson, using their bodies and materials to keep them engaged.
Some ideas:
Using their bodies to show different forms of energy. Jumping up and down for kinetic, and pausing for potential.

Unfortunately not all families are going to be able or willing to participate in their students schooling. With that though, there are definetly ways we can try to encourage this!
I'd recomend starting with students bringing items/completed projects home, and having them share it with families. Maybe sending out a survey to the families to see what they enjoy themselves, and what they like...

If your going over fossils, you could either buy or make dinsosuar dig kits, or if possible, scatter fossils throughout the schoolyeard for students to dig up.
