I love this forum! I have found so many good ideas and am excited about next time I get to teach about cells. I loved the idea about making a model of cells out of fruit. I used candy and cookies for my students and allowed them to eat it, but with the new DOE Nutrition guidelines, that is not the best thing to be doing in the classroom. I just did a couple lesson with my students. I broke it down over 3 days. They got to look at and handle models of cells and various books and online resources prior to the culminating activity of making edible cells.
