Focusing on student-centered learning will help keep students engaged during a science lesson. Having the students constantly engaged in discussion or problem solving keeps students from getting distracted. If the lesson is more of a lecture, make sure to have interactive material for the students in the powerpoint such as: poll everywhere or QR codes.

In elementary math and language arts are pushed very hard, but science is just as important. Science can be incorportated when teaching any other subject. Cross-curicular lessons help students develop important and meaningful connections in their learning. Science and math can easily go together. I believe the best way to teach students about physical science is through inquiry-based learning. Students should be shown an amazing event in the natural world, or a phenomenon. Students can then formulate questions around the phenomenon and work towards solving them. Give the students a chance to explore and find answers for themselves before giving them away.
