So many great ideas! One thing that I love to do with younger kids is plant a little garden. Beans and flowers are usually grown pretty easily but a new one I want to try this year is carrots. A garden is a great opportunity for kids to learn where our food comes from, plant life, insects and even as creative inspiration for art or writing. Our school doesn't have a garden right now but I'm hopeful that eventually we will and the kids will be able to see the process the plant goes through to produce it's fruit.

Regardless of the subject you have to keep students engaged. Provide fun, hands on activities and find ways to make it relevant to their lives. Science is not for everyone but everyone should be given equal opportunity to try.
