I think this collection of resources would be particularly helpful for new teachers. The articles cover many relevant skills, such as creating collaborative norms, questioning students effectively, and considering equity challenges. As well, many of the articles provide specific ideas that can be easily implemented in the classroom. For example, holding a brainstorming session on how to kindly disagree with someone so that students can refer back to those skills during discussions. These are ideas that are not only relevant to the science classroom, but also any setting, grade level, or content area. One thing that I think would help bolster this collection would be the inclusion of a lesson plan, or step sequence, that explains in more detail how to facilitate the creation of classroom norms with students. Regardless, I think this is a great collection, that will help many new teachers, myself included!
