I am a 48 year old teacher who has been teaching for some 25 years. I love science and math. I also enjoy swimming, hiking, and camping. I hope to earn the Endeavor certificate and teach Earth and Space Science along with my other courses.

It is interesting to read your post. I have been teaching for over 25 years and we did not get to learn that way. It was mostly "sit and get" back then. Staff development is still pretty much that way in may districts. On the school level, you may be lucky to have some days when you have presentations that have direct correlation to science.
