I love some of the ideas I'm reading in the comments on here -- especially any of the ones involving making observations. Anybody can take a journal home, make some observations on a daily basis, draw some pictures, and keep a log. What a great way to practice science habits without taking up class time, and it could lead to great discussion back at school the next day.

I recommend treating science experiment time the same as any other time as far as management strategies go, but remember it's going to get loud and look crazy to an outsider at times! Noise and movement can still mean there is good learning going on. I always try to keep a close eye (and ear) on things to make sure the noise is productive talk, not just yelling or nonsense.

Definitely start integrating science into everything else you do! That could mean a weather conversation during your morning meeting, reading a science content filled story during your read aloud time, having them write about a science topic, etc. Any time you can double up subjects, definitely take advantage of those opportunities!
