Amanda Upton is currently the senior manager of the Shell Programs at the National Science Teaching Association. She is a current board member of the National Innovation Collaborative, a STEAM interdisciplinary forum. She is the current chairperson to the NIC Diversity Committee, and co-chairs the K–12 Effective Practices Project. She recently received a Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Leadership at the American College of Education. She chaired the Gifted and Talented Advisory Board for the city of Falls Church Public Schools and served as an active member. She has extensive background in visual arts and science education and assessment, program management, and corporate collaboration. Her work as an educator gained state and national recognition. She is the recipient to over $3m in curricular grants, and collaboratively wrote the state assessment for visual arts in South Carolina.
