EPICS!!

Engineering Practices In Community Service is a program sponsored by Purdue University and allows students to use their skills from academic areas and apply them to learning about engineering practices to help the community around them. This article gives information about the EPICS teams and the activities students go through. Great article

Practical Application

What a great way to show students a practical application of their skills and knowledge they are learning. Takes the idea of transfer of energy and relates it to sports which most students can relate to.

Good activity

This is a fun activity for students to help them understand that technology does not need to be an electronic device like a cell phone or computer. It really is as simple as a ball point pen. On another note taking the pen apart and having student try to put it back together as quick as possible either alone or as part of an assembly line is another great way to use the pens and cover the idea of assembly lines and their advantages/disadvantages.
