Sun, May 11, 2014 3:50 PM in looking for a Stem lesson that incorporates Probability.
I created a lesson on designing a cost-effective Lego building. That was only a lesson but it could definitely be expanded into an engineering unit with the incorporation of social studies and the history of building structures such as the arches of ancient Rome, the Colloseum, etc.
Throwing in the probability of a building having a certain height could be thrown into the mix as well.

This discovery would be a great introduction a numerous types of lessons comparing the way things are on Earth to the way things could be on this newly discovered planet. It lends itself to a vast amount of imagination as well as science, which I think is a valuable component in engaging young students.
