My students record their weather everyday through n2y.com using "Joey's Locker." After they complete the smart board activity they have a graph that has the days and different icons to represent the weather. The student graph and track the weather daily as a class. This might help students visualize their weather.

We were talking about solar energy today as a class and one fun activity that is outdoors based could be cooking an egg in a pan and allowing the students to observe the changes. The students could also be given foil, magnifying glass and other materials to see if they can get their egg to cook faster. It is important to review safety issues for this but it can still be fun and engaging.

I think that it would help if you make the science real-world for the students. They will want to engage in it more and that will make you as a teacher want to include it more. Setting aside time is also really important. It helps to scheudle it ahead of time and plan for it because then you would want to teach something that you've spent so much time on.
