All About the Moon Collection

Very good collection
I quite like this collection because it contains many different sources which assist a teacher in preparing to teach their students all about the moon. The first thing that pops out to me is that there is a Scipack which will teach the teacher and test their understanding of what they are reading before they teach it to their students. This is important because the teacher must understand before they attempt to make others understand. I especially enjoyed the book chapter entitled Moon Tricks because of the story it held inside and the ideas it gives for fun assignments having to do with that story and different grade levels. I also enjoyed the book chapter The Changing Moon and the science lessons included in addition to the resources such as book titles it suggests. The journal article which intrigued me the most was entitled The Moon in Children’s Literature. I enjoyed that it was all about avoiding the pitfalls of teaching misconceptions about the moon as it is usually stated in children’s literature. I know that as a child I had many misconceptions so I feel this would be quite useful to a teacher. Overall I feel this is a very good, successful, and useful collection which any teacher who is preparing to teach a unit or lesson about the moon would be lucky to have.
