Jessica Holman has worked as a special education teachers for 11 years. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Special Education at Winston-Salem State University and earned master’s degrees in Teacher Leadership and Instructional Technology Integration at Georgetown College. She is driven by her passion for equity in education. This led her to want to empower educators through professional learning and instructional coaching on how to use the NGSS to achieve access to science literacy for all students. She works as a NSTA Professional Learning Facilitator as well as a Curriculum Specialist for Assessments for Great Minds.

I love all of the ideas on this thread as well! I was thinking and another cool idea may be leaves. I am thinking more during the fall season but you could take your kiddo outside and have them pick different leaves and then you could sort them. You could sort by size, color, shape. An Absolute Must!!!

This book is absolutely amazing! The goal of this book is for you as a teacher to understand the NGSS and it succeeds in doing this. The e-book is exceptional. Not only does it have content that anticipates your questions and needs. The e-book is also full of videoes to see models of instructional material. As well as interactive labs that you can participate in to help your learning. This book is full of tools that can be used. It is can be read on almost any device so you can take it with you where ever you go. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to establish a firm foundation in their understanding of the NGSS.
