In the science classroom, I think a journal is more important than a notebook. If students can reflect on activities and lessons it points out important parts of the lesson and shows what students have learned all at once.

personally, I think the best classroom management stems from patience and self control. It is not about punishment, but redirection. This idea can be really hard to keep in mind, especially on the hardest days in the classroom. I like my classroom to be set up in pods rather than rows.
