I'm fascinated by the ocean and it's creatures. I wanted expand my knowledge with the hope of passing it on in a classroom someday. This collection includes a broad range of topics including the coral reef ecosystems, the ocean's effect on climate and weather, and the environmental degradation.

Plants and Animals Collection Review

I was particularly drawn to this collection because I'm writing my own lesson plan on the similarities and differences between plants and animals for a Kindergarten class. I liked this collection because it includes a variety of resources. It also features a lot of different topics that could be investigated when comparing plants and animals. I specifically liked the journal article "Methods and Strategies: Teaching About Animals". This article helped give me a better idea of student's misconceptions, which concepts I need to zero in on, and the importance of tying in my conception about animals to my students conception of animals. I will definitely use and recommend this collection in the future for comparing animals and plants.
