Hi! I've actually done a lesson on states of matter and one of the things I did with the class was create a root beer float. It was actually really fun and the students enjoyed it a lot. The ice cream would be a representation of a solid, the liquid would be the soda, and the gas would obviously be the reaction of the mixture. This could be an activity you might do after the lesson or even as an e...

Water Cycle Collection

The water cycle
I really enjoyed going through your collection. I like how some of your resources integrate other subjects such as creative writing through a science lesson. I also liked that you've also added resources that go in depth about water and it's importance. This could be of great use when constructing a lesson.
Hurricanes Collection

Hurricanes
This is an awesome collection Ashley. I loved all the variety of sources that you've put together and activities that it shares. I noticed that they all some how compliment each each other. Like the article "Can we protect our communities from natural disasters?" and the article "Hurricane Proof This" both involve structure of buildings and safety precautions, therefore, they work well together. I also like "The Poetry of Science: Hurricanes". Its a great way to get students motivated and remember important facts about hurricanes. Thank you for sharing!
