Recently in my college course for Science for Elementary Students. We did a project where were to bring in a alien from another planet, and talk about him in a way to inform the class about the specific characteristics of that planet. I thought this was a really fun and clever idea, but I think it would be a little difficult for first and second graders to do. Are there any good take home project ...

I personally find chemistry challenging because there is a lot of elevated diction that goes along with learning all the topics. How can you make all the harder concepts become more elementary and easy to understand to young kids, so that they can build a good background base of knowledge?

Sizing Up the Solar System

Awesome Resource

This article allows student to explore what a scientific model is, even with little experience having dealt with them. Not only does this article provide clear and precise explanations, it provides great ideas for how to implement stuff like this into your classroom or into a lesson. It is very engaging for students and real allows them to get a grasp on our whole solar system.The activities it provides you with are very much student centered,and forces the student into self discovery, leaving the teacher as more of a facilitator which is awesome!

Excellent Resource

I think that this resource is a great tool that teachers can use in the classroom. It allwos the students to first, make predictions based on what they have seen on their own, and then they are able to test that. This also give great explanations into how to express certain ideas pertaining to the sky and stars. I also that the projects that the source suggests are easy ways the the students and continually be engaged in the subject matter. Great little ideas for the classroom, especially younger kids!!!
