Activities work really well when trying to assess students and avoiding tests and quizzes. I like to also use something formative like exit slips. They are quick and to the point. It's an informal assessment, but I believe it's effective. Below is a Reading Rockets link to exit slips.

Chemical and Physical Changes Collection

Great Collection
The collection "Chemical and Physical Changes" has a variety of information. The collection is very much for educators because it has a lot of helpful information. The journal articles help educators plan and apply the lesson content to their students. The journal article "Changes Matter!" was my favorite resource because it included a 10-day lesson plan. The 10-day lesson plan is informative. The collection is on topic with chemical and physical changes.
