Congrats on your adventure into honors classes! I use exit papers or cards every couple of days to get a feel how students are taking in the lessons. My bell ringer activity is a journal writing prompt recorded in their journals. we discuss, they add to the answers if needed, and I grade it the journal 3 times a grading period, usually around test time.
