I think that posters/models can often times be very misleading to children. This is especially true when they are not depicted to scale. I certainly agree with Becca--avoiding behavioral issues is key to a successful lesson, so definitely start there. Holding high expectations is important, but also be sure to be explicit with those expectations. Have students repeat your expectations so that you are sure they understand.
