I am a preservice teacher trying to make a block plan about the solar system. I have to make a lesson plan for one of the days of my plan. The day I am picking is the one that focuses on the Earth and its moon. The activity for the lesson is going to be a KWL chart. Does anyone how any ideas on the important points I should hit on for this lesson that could be taught in 30-45 minutes?

I think that you should organize student work by putting all of the work they missed into a packet. You could put that packet into a bin labeled "missed work" and have the student search through it for their name when they come in in the morning. Another idea is to put it in their cubby area (if they have one) so they can put it into their backpack when they go to put their stuff away.&...

I believe that using music in the classroom is very beneficial. Songs about the current topic they are learning can make the lesson more interesting for them. Music is also an easy way for students to memorize important information since there is a rhythm or beat to go along with it, even more so if the song rhymes!
