Candidate for a Multiple Subject Credential. I love teaching and working with students in elementary school, especially kindergarten. I began to enjoy science when I reached the upper elementary grades when all the activities were hands on! My favorite branches of science are chemistry, marine biology, and earth science!

These resources focus around the sun, the stars, brightness, and distance. These resources also relate to NGSS Performance Expectation 5-ESS1-1. Support an argument that differences in the apparent brightness of the sun compared to other stars is due to their relative distances from Earth.

I think this is a great topic. It's true that we find so many ways to get parents involved in other disciplines, but not science as much. I think it might be a great idea to reach out to any parents who may be involved in a science field and have them come in and give a presentation for students.
