I am enjoying my 27th year of teaching, mostly in grades 3, 4, and 5 in the Los Angeles Unified School District. I achieved my National Board certification in 1999, and have renewed my NBCT twice!
I have also been a Supervising Teacher (a coach, mentor and trainer for student teachers) for many years through the California State University Program, as well as Pepperdine University. In 2007 I was awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Math and Science Teaching for the state of California in a ceremony at the White House. I have also taught in Sweden at an international school. I was an LAUSD Teacher of the Year in 2018, as well as a Shell Regional Lab Challenge winner in 2019. Currently I teach in a designated STEM lab at Kittridge School for Advanced Studies, teaching all of our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students (over 400!) each week.
